Our experiences over the last week were truly heartbreaking for us and our nation. These issues have old roots and fresh pain. The old expression, two wrongs never make a right is ever so true. Martin Luther King’s dreams and words must prevail. We pray for calm and the strength once again to say, “we are in this together”.
Martin Luther King’s words mean more now than ever before. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal”.
Let us all take our small part to continue to live our values, but particularly now to reflect on our values of trust, integrity, respect and fairness. Although it seems that again our vision is blurry for 2020, we will continue in our own ways to work towards keeping our future in focus.
Please be strong, and together we can help to continue to instill hope for our future. This image brings hope for our nation. We pray that we are safe, supported and empowered to help in any way that we can.
